Job Description

Sourcing & Supplier Management

• Lead procurement of local spices in Vietnam and pepper globally to ensure stable and competitive supply.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with farmers, collectors, traders, and key suppliers.
• Negotiate large purchasing contracts and commercial terms, while monitoring supplier performance regarding quality, reliability, and compliance.
• Ensure all activities follow SOPs, business principles, and legal requirements.
• Coordinate with Sustainability and NFPP (Nedspice Farmer Partnership Programme) teams regarding supply commitments and standards.

Market Intelligence & Risk Management

• Monitor daily market prices, player activities, and crop developments to support timely purchasing decisions.
• Synthesize supply outlook, pricing trends, and market dynamics to communicate clear strategies.
• Conduct crop surveys and field visits to understand crop outlooks and farmer situations.
• Establish procurement governance and manage commercial positions, including price risk, position limits, and hedging strategies in coordination with the Finance Director.

Commercial & Cross-functional Coordination

• Work closely with Sales, Planning, Production, Quality, and Sustainability teams to align sourcing with business requirements.
• Provide updates on market trends, supply availability, and pricing to support commercial and production planning.
• Work with Finance to align on cash flow and FX exposure.

Supplier Development & Sustainable Sourcing

• Promote responsible and sustainable sourcing practices.
• Coordinate supplier development, certification compliance (RA, UEBT, Organic), and farmer program alignment.
• Support sustainability data capture and traceability requirements at the transaction level.

Team Leadership

• Lead and develop the purchasing team, setting objectives and monitoring performance.
• Build team capabilities in market analysis, supplier management, and negotiation.
• Develop the next generation of Vietnamese sourcing talent through succession planning.

Job Requirement

Education & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Agriculture, Economics, or a related field; Master’s/MBA preferred.

Experience & Knowledge

• Minimum 10 years of experience in sourcing, purchasing, or trading agricultural commodities, preferably spices.
• Strong experience working with farmers, collectors, traders, and supplier networks.
• Proven experience in negotiation, purchasing contracts, and supplier management.
• Good knowledge of quality standards, supply chain processes, position management, and commodity price risk frameworks.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong analytical, decision-making, and communication skills.
• Fluent in English and Vietnamese.
• Familiarity with FX exposure management and hedging mechanisms.

Personality & Attitude

• Hands-on, practical, and market-oriented mindset.
• Ability to work closely with both external suppliers and internal teams.
