The Material Sourcing Manager is a key role responsible for ensuring sourcing strategies meet the business needs for one or more material categories. This involves developing strong supplier relationships, monitoring performance, and selecting the right partners for new product introductions. The focus is on achieving a competitive total cost of ownership while maintaining high standards of quality, sustainability, and ethical sourcing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) principles for optimal supplier management, selection, and development.
- Continuously monitor market trends, material costs, and other critical factors to develop robust sourcing strategies.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop, review, and align material and supplier strategies.
- Develop strategic supplier relationships at the executive level, maintaining regular communication through business reviews and other channels.
- Provide effective and responsive support to Product Development during Concept & NPI process through supplier identification, new material sourcing, Request for Proposal (RFP), and others.
- Serve as the primary contact for sourcing initiatives and supplier management within regions such as Vietnam.
Yêu cầu công việc
- 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing in the footwear/apparel industry, including 3+ years with a multi-national brand/retailer.
- Strong understanding of footwear/apparel materials (including manufacturing process, material properties, etc.).
- Proven ability to develop and execute sourcing strategies.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in MS Excel.
- College degree or above, preferably in a footwear materials-related field.
