Job Description
Cost Accounting System Design & Implementation
- Implement comprehensive cost accounting systems for various manufacturing entities within the group.
- Establish a practical actual costing methodology for production operations, defining cost centers, cost pools, and allocation bases based on production reality.
- Coordinate with Business Analysts to map process flows for costing purposes and develop internal controls to ensure cost data accuracy and completeness.
- Create standardized templates and tools for consistent cost capture and management reporting.
Production Cost Calculation & Analysis
- Calculate monthly production costs accurately by product, customer order, and entity.
- Analyze key cost components including direct materials, direct labor, and manufacturing overhead.
- Track Work-In-Process (WIP) and finished goods valuation consistently while monitoring cost trends to identify key cost drivers.
- Support make-versus-buy decisions for outsourcing operations and provide highly accurate cost data for pricing strategies and overall business decisions.
Site Visits & Operations Observation
- Conduct regular on-site visits to production facilities located in Dong Nai, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Binh Duong, Vung Tau, and Ho Chi Minh City.
- Observe and precisely record operational workflows covering materials, finished goods, and the entire production process.
- Interview production managers, engineers, supervisors, and workers to gather operational insights for accurate costing.
- Identify critical cost capture points and clearly define necessary operational control requirements.
Cost Variance Analysis & Inventory Support
- Prepare detailed monthly cost analysis reports for senior management, investigating any significant variances and anomalies.
- Provide actionable insights and improvement recommendations while supporting the monthly financial close process and COGS calculation.
- Provide precise cost data for inventory valuation and coordinate with Inventory Coordinators on valuation methodology.
- Support inventory reconciliation, adjustments, and external audit inquiries regarding inventory and COGS matters.
Job Requirement
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or an equivalent professional certification.
Experience & Knowledge
- 3 to 4 years of solid experience in cost management at manufacturing companies.
- Alternatively, experience working with audited manufacturing clients focusing on inventory cycles, COGS, and production cost testing is highly accepted.
- Deep understanding of cost accounting principles such as job costing, process costing, and overhead allocation.
- Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes and terminology.
Skills & Competencies
- Fluent in Chinese to effectively communicate with international stakeholders is considered a strong advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate operational realities into financial models.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot tables, complex formulas, data analysis, financial modeling, and Power Query.
- Experience utilizing ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle; familiarity with FAST ERP is a plus.
- Excellent interview techniques and communication skills to confidently gather information from operational staff.
Personality & Attitude
- Curious and analytical mindset with a strong desire to understand how things work beyond just the numbers.
- Hands-on and highly adaptable, comfortable walking factory floors, observing operations, wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and working across diverse environments.
- Detail-oriented to ensure absolute accuracy in cost calculations, while remaining highly collaborative in building cross-functional relationships.
