Job Description
- Design die-cutting tools based on shoe lasts.
- Adapt shoe lasts to fit mold designs.
- Accurately cut insoles by hand, following paper patterns.
- Read and interpret blueprints, design schematics, and CAD drawings.
- Visualize and calculate metal shapes and tolerances.
- Design jigs and templates to aid in part fabrication.
- Measure and mark metal stock for machining.
- Set up machine tools (drills, lathes, grinders, milling machines).
- Cut and shape metal blocks to precise dimensions.
- Finish, grind, and shim metal for smooth surfaces.
- Assemble tool and die parts.
- Inspect finished tools and dies for defects.
- Conduct test runs with completed tools.
Job Requirement
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field.
- Experience as a tool and die maker.
- In-depth knowledge of machine tools and their applications.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and design schematics.
- Extensive experience using metalworking tools (drills, milling machines, grinders, lathes).
- Ability to lift heavy objects and operate large machinery.
- Experience with quality control analysis.
- Excellent attention to detail.
