Job Description

  • The Factory Director is not merely the person who runs the factory, but the central pillar of production leadership during the period of generational transition and comprehensive Group-wide restructuring.
  • This position is responsible for: Safeguard the quality legacy and production discipline of Company (Gen 1).
  • At the same time, restructure – modernize – and standardize the factory to align with: Long-term growth strategy.
  • Governance standards for the next-generation leadership (Gen 2).
  • Operational standards that are scalable, auditable, transparent, and transferable. A. Manufacturing Leadership & Transformation
  • Lead mid- to long-term manufacturing strategy in alignment with the Group restructuring agenda.
  • Standardize the entire operating system based on Quality – Cost – Delivery – Safety – Compliance at a Group-ready level.
  • Design a factory model that minimizes reliance on individuals and operates through robust systems. B. Quality, Compliance & Brand Protection
  • Serve as the “gatekeeper” of Company’s brand quality.
  • Represent the factory before: The Board of Directors, Strategic partners, International auditors and regulatory authorities.
  • Lead the Quality & Compliance team to ensure 100% adherence to: Customer specifications, International standards (ISO, BSCI, etc.), Regulatory requirements (REACH, RoHS, etc.). C. Operational Excellence & Efficiency
  • Achieve and maintain world-class OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) through systematic improvements.
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste, optimize flow, and improve productivity.
  • Drive digital transformation in manufacturing (Industry 4.0 elements) for real-time monitoring and data-driven decisions. D. Cost Management & Profitability
  • Own factory P&L with focus on cost optimization while maintaining quality.
  • Implement activity-based costing and value stream mapping to identify and eliminate non-value-added activities.
  • Negotiate with suppliers for optimal material costs and lead make-vs-buy decisions. E. Safety & Sustainability
  • Champion a zero-accident safety culture through rigorous training and system enforcement.
  • Lead ESG initiatives in manufacturing, including energy efficiency, waste reduction, and sustainable sourcing. F. Leadership Succession & Talent Development
  • Mentor and develop the next-generation manufacturing leadership (Gen 2 successors).
  • Build a high-performance culture with clear KPIs, accountability, and professional development paths.
  • Recruit and retain top manufacturing talent to support transformation. G. Risk Management & Business Continuity
  • Develop and test business continuity plans for manufacturing operations.
  • Identify and mitigate operational risks, including supply chain disruptions and quality issues.
  • Ensure robust crisis management protocols are in place and practiced.

Job Requirement

  • 15+ years in manufacturing leadership, with at least 5 years as Factory Director or equivalent in international-standard facilities.
  • Proven track record in factory transformation, preferably in precision manufacturing or consumer goods.
  • Deep expertise in lean manufacturing, quality systems (Six Sigma Black Belt preferred), and Industry 4.0.
  • Experience with international audits and certifications (ISO 9001, 14001, BSCI, etc.).
  • Strong financial acumen with P&L ownership experience.
  • Excellent leadership skills with success in cultural transformation and succession planning.
  • Bachelor's in Engineering or related field; MBA preferred.
  • Fluent English; Vietnamese proficiency required for local operations.
