Job Description
Develop port business by searching and widening customer networks for more port volume, ensuring sustainable business development for the port in the mid & long term.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Mastermind port business growth strategies to meet monthly, quarterly, and yearly port business goals and objectives.
- Build and nurture client relationships to continue winning new contracts for the port.
- Negotiate new contract terms with new clients.
- Attend relevant networking events and build industry connections to facilitate port business growth.
- Ensure the port complies with contractual obligations and legal regulations.
- Work with other department heads to determine & carry out company goals and KPIs.
- Conduct market research and analysis to form strategic business decisions and plans.
- Oversee branding and marketing endeavors to ensure all efforts are aligned with business goals.
- Take a lead role in solving commercial issues that may arise.
- Manage both internal and external customer relationships.
- Develop the commercial strategy and commercial direction of projects.
- Monitor the progress of customer progression at the Port during the contract period.
- Oversee the performance of the commercial team and provide direction.
- Pursue new business opportunities.
- Monitor budgeting expenses.
- Identify and manage commercial risks.
Job Requirement
Education / Experience:
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree or higher, with a maritime background preferred.
- 5+ years of prior experience in business development or marketing.
- Vast grain trading networks, with some port operations experience preferred.
- Excellent Customer Development & Management skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in both Vietnamese & English.
- A proven history of successful leadership.
- Must be a strategic thinker with strong negotiation & deal finalization skills.
- Possess a collaborative & commercial mindset and work well as part of a team.
- Up-to-date on industry trends, as well as related laws and regulations.
- Ability to build & maintain strong relationships with clients and industry contacts.
- English fluency in four skills.

- Behavioral Competencies – Level 2 First Line Manager:
- Communication: Strong communication skills with clients, operation managers, and business executives.
- Leadership: Good leadership skills to develop relationships, manage clients, and create deals for new clients.
- Problem-solving: Strong problem-solving skills to identify and overcome issues, keeping vendor and financial limitations in mind.
- Technical skills/Functional competencies:
- Thorough understanding of the grain handling process at ports.
- Knowledge of international trade and practices.
- Knowledge of port marketing and practices.
- Knowledge of marine regulations is preferable.
- Numerical and statistical skills.
