Job Description
- Working as a valuable member of the team, you will support our global procurement manager with a CAN-DO attitude and a positive mindset. You will have a passion for food packaging. You will support efficient procurement processes to meet sales growth and profit targets.
- Responsibilities include identifying new suppliers and sourcing new products at competitive prices, ensuring quality, and meeting delivery timelines.
- Collaborating closely with our UK and US sales teams, you will adhere to our global procurement strategies and drive operational efficiency.
- Monitoring marketing trends and supplier performance, you will support procurement manager to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost optimisation, contributing to the company’s competitiveness and profitability.
- To establish our sourcing office in Vietnam.
- Source alternative suppliers when necessary to diversify supplier base and mitigate risks.
- Monitor quality and service levels regularly to maintain high standards and address any issues promptly.
- To support tender process efficiently to secure competitive pricing and favourable terms from suppliers.
- Develop and maintain a good knowledge of all packaging solutions, sharing insights and expertise with colleagues to enhance collective knowledge.
- Maintain accurate products information and suppliers information in our database.
- Promote cooperation between departments and business units across the group to enhance operational efficiency and collaboration.
Job Requirement
- Experience of working within a fast-paced purchasing environment with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Varied exposure to product sourcing across a range of suppliers in Vietnam and Southeast Asia
- Experience of negotiating best price & service to secure new supplier arrangements
- Sound communication skills both verbal and written in Vietnamese and in English
- IT/PC literate with solid competency and working knowledge of Microsoft Office and internet
- Reliable and trustworthy Desirable:
- University graduated
- Understanding or knowledge of general packaging, packaging design, and their application
- Prior experience of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and/or other sourcing software packages
- Minimum 18 months sourcing or merchandising experience within a commercial purchasing/procurement environment
- A background of working with hundreds of different product lines and unique item codes
- Experience in prior role of close inter-department working (i.e. with sales/purchasing)
- International transport knowledge
- Import and export experience
