Job Description
Mold Workshop Planning & Supervision
- Coordinate with the Mold Manager to implement daily and weekly work plans for the Mold Workshop.
- Assign and supervise CNC, Wire Cut, turning, milling, grinding, and mold assembly personnel.
- Monitor work progress, quality, mold condition, machine conditions, breakdowns, and technical issues.
- Report workshop issues and progress to the Mold Manager.
CNC Machining, CAD/CAM & Technical Guidance
- Operate and troubleshoot technical issues related to CNC milling machines, lathes, and Wire Cut EDM machines.
- Use CAD/CAM software for design and CNC machining programming.
- Provide hands-on technical guidance and support to workshop employees during machining operations.
- Review CAM programs, toolpaths, cutting tools, workholding/setups, and machining sequences.
Mold Manufacturing, Repair & Maintenance
- Read and understand 2D/3D technical drawings, tolerances, surface roughness, materials, and assembly requirements.
- Understand the full mold process, including manufacturing, assembly, mold trials, repair, improvement, and maintenance.
- Manage workshop machinery, cutting tools, fixtures, measuring instruments, and equipment.
- Maintain 5S, occupational safety, and workplace discipline in the Mold Workshop.
Cross-functional Technical Coordination
- Coordinate with Production, Casting, R&D/Design, QC, Maintenance, and related departments to resolve technical issues.
- Translate the Mold Manager’s plans and requirements into practical workshop activities.
- Ensure effective execution of machining, CAM programming, and mold manufacturing activities.
Job Requirement
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Precision Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical machining and/or mold manufacturing, with experience supervising or managing a machining workshop or mold workshop.
Skills & Competencies
- Hands-on experience with CNC milling machines, lathes, and Wire Cut EDM machines.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and CNC machining programming.
- Experience with Creo, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Mastercam, Fusion 360, or equivalent software is preferred.
- Strong ability to read and understand 2D/3D technical drawings.
- Good knowledge of mold manufacturing, repair, and maintenance processes.
- Ability to plan, assign, coordinate, and supervise workshop activities.
- Strong technical problem-solving and analytical skills.
Language / Other Requirements
- Good English communication is required.
- Preferred experience areas include Sand Casting Molds / Patterns, Die Casting Molds, Plastic Injection Molds, and Precision Machining.
- Strong hands-on workshop capability is preferred, especially in CNC machining, CAM programming, and mold manufacturing.
