Job Description

Product Design & Mold Development Support

• Transfer customer design requirements to product designers and work with them during the design stage to ensure compliance with standards and Kaizen improvement.
• Create tool layouts and coordinate with suppliers to design molds based on approved layouts.
• Participate in mold design reviews with TE and support design changes to ensure manufacturability.

Trial Run, Testing & Program Support

• Join mold trial runs at the mold factory, confirm mold structure and process settings, and ensure products meet dimensional and appearance requirements.
• Assemble products for requirement testing and submit testing requests to the Lab.
• Work with the Lab to test parts and improve products to meet requirements.

PPAP, Continuous Improvement & Compliance

• Provide required data to support PPAP.
• Work with MTL to verify fixture trial runs and continuously improve parts to ensure fixture performance.
• Cooperate with Product Development teams in China and the United States to complete customer requirements according to program milestones.
• Create and update product design standards; support plant continuous improvement activities.
• Comply with SPI policies, environmental policy, quality and environmental management system instructions, and workplace safety and health requirements.

Job Requirement

Education & Experience

• Engineering degree or certificate of completion of studies; Bachelor’s degree related to the area of responsibility is preferred.
• 3 years of work experience in the automotive manufacturing field.

Skills & Competencies

• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Good decision-making ability.
• Knowledge of injection molding operations.
• Knowledge of plastic parts assembly methods and plastic parts decoration methods is an advantage.
• Ability to support mold trials, product testing, PPAP data, design standards, and continuous improvement activities.

Language / Other Requirements

• Able to understand 80% of English conversation and speak 60% correctly in English.
• Must pass the Machine Reasoning Test with 80% correctness.
• Must achieve a Wonderlic score of 20 or above.
