Job Description
Full-cycle Accounting & VAS Compliance
- Set up the chart of accounts and reporting requirements in the accounting software system based on VAS, Vietnam infrastructure project characteristics, Group requirements, and the client’s standard chart of accounts.
- Collect invoices, receipts, accruals, and original accounting vouchers; record monthly journal entries for construction service revenue, procurement, bank transactions, payroll, fixed assets, and other business transactions.
- Complete monthly routine accounting tasks, including bank reconciliation, receivables/payables reconciliation, depreciation/amortization, cost carry-forward, and profit/loss carry-forward.
Asset, Cash & Tax-related Accounting
- Prepare and maintain the fixed asset schedule, including acquisitions, disposals, depreciation, and depreciation expense allocation.
- Track and reconcile petty cash transactions and prepare bank balance reconciliation statements.
- Issue VAT invoices for revenue transactions received from the client.
Financial Reporting, Audit & Statutory Filing
- Prepare monthly financial statements at Vietnam project-office level, including trial balance, balance sheet, and income statement.
- Handle month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing to support tax filing.
- Act as the primary accounting contact for annual audit activities, provide required documents, and respond to auditor questions.
- Report accounting or tax risks to the relevant reporting line and exercise Chief Accountant sign-off authority under Vietnamese law, including signing financial statements and statutory filings.
Documentation & Government Submission Support
- Print, collect, organize, bind, and number accounting vouchers, ledgers, financial statements, tax returns, and other accounting records.
- Provide financial statements, accounting data, vouchers, invoices, and bookkeeping-related documents as required by the finance department or government authorities.
Job Requirement
Education & Experience
- University degree or higher in Accounting, Auditing, or Finance.
- At least 2 years of hands-on accounting work experience.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS).
- Experience with accounting for foreign contractor PMO, EPC, or construction projects is preferred.
- Familiarity with construction-sector accounting requirements under VAS or FCT compliance is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with FCT hybrid method or credit method is a strong advantage.
Language / Other Requirements
- Proficiency in Vietnamese and Chinese at business/technical level.
- Holds a valid Chief Accountant Training Certificate (Chứng chỉ bồi dưỡng kế toán trưởng).
- Not subject to statutory disqualification under the 2015 Law on Accounting, such as current criminal prosecution or unexpunged conviction for economic/financial crimes.
Personality & Attitude
- Detail-oriented and accurate in financial reporting and accounting data management.
- Responsible in statutory compliance, audit coordination, and accounting record control.
- Able to coordinate with finance teams, auditors, and government-related documentation requirements.
