Job Description

Interacts with USA merchandising and PD teams to understand product line direction for new programs and helps determine construction requirements for footwear to best utilize manufacturing and raw material resources while achieving design and cost targets.
Product commercialization especially for bottom units/tooling and last creation and making sure production for these parts are managed properly.
Sourcing suppliers and maintaining long-lasting relationships with them as well as existing suppliers.
Obtaining quotes from different suppliers.
Negotiating price, quantity, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
Assessing quotes and compiling a detailed assessment of cost breakdowns.
Generating quote comparisons and contributing to internal supplier selection based on the quotes.
Works closely with all manufacturing partners to execute production to desired standards, specifications and timing.
Assist manufacturing partners in improving efficiencies, equipment selections, raw material solutions, manufacturing processes, and lean concepts.
Is the primary liaison between Goldbug and our VN contract manufactures on all product development & manufacturing issues.
Aligns project priorities with company strategy and big picture direction. Communicates closely with USA PD team, merchandising team and manufacturing partners to gain consistency of product construction, and leverage style options for manufacturing efficiencies.
In collaboration with the USA PD team, creates specific construction specifications and instructions on the development of product for optimum quality and cost and works with USD PD group to generate final spec and tech pack in PLM to document, formalize and distribute.
Understand the Footwear production process from start to finish.
Experience with different footwear production processes such as vulcanized, cupsole, stroble, and welt.
Collaborates with USA and ASIA teams on qualifying new factories partners.
Demonstrates expertise in raw material, and textile knowledge. Including knitting, weaving, dyeing, printing, finishes, washes and coatings.
Understands all types of footwear production machinery and techniques, especially sole producing.
Understands all raw material and finished goods testing requirements for most commercial applications.
Interacts with people at all levels of the organization and provides reports and product details as needed.
Works closely with Product Testing group to supply all needed samples for pre-shipment consumer testing on time.
Manages transition of new product ideas from design to prototype to final specification.
Able to offer construction and manufacturing solutions based on excellent understanding of raw material applications to optimize product quality and cost.
Help manage product development process to maintain consistency of product and vendor responsiveness.
Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs.

Job Requirement

University Degree preferably in Textiles or Footwear related subjects.
5-10 years + related experience required.
Footwear product development and manufacturing experience required.
Understanding or experience in Footwear product development and manufacturing a plus.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Lean training preferred
Familiar with PLM systems
Able to work in both office and manufacturing environments
Management of staff of varying levels of experience and cultural backgrounds
Ability to travel domestically and internationally
Good command of written and spoken Vietnamese and English language skills
